| Aruba is the "A" of the ABC Islands...Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao and located approximately 15 miles north of Venezuela. The island was founded by the Spanish, but never colonized. In 1634, during the climax of their 80 year war with the Spanish, the Dutch took over the island, and in 1986, Aruba became a separate country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The island's biggest attractions are its beautiful beaches, white sand and turquoise waters. It's best known landmark is the Natural Bridge, carved out of coral rock by the rough surf on the northern side of the Island. There are many things to do while in Aruba: Enjoy windsurfing,
snorkling, scuba diving, para-sailing, sailing and fishing. Explore a sunken ship; try an island safari or horseback riding. Snorkel at Baby Beach or stop by Adventure Golf to enjoy a quick round of mini-golf, improve your home run average at the batting cages or try the Go Kart track! Enjoy championship golf at Tierra del Sol. |
