| A fishing village of 120 people as recently as 1970, CANCÚN is now a city with a resident population of half a million and receives almost two million visitors a year. Cancún is marginally closer to Miami than it is to Mexico City and has a lot to offer: striking modern hotels on white-sand beaches; high-class entertainment including parachuting, jet-skiing, scuba-diving and golf; a electric nightlife; and from here.
|
|
| The turquoise waters spill onto the solitary, fine sand beaches, which are the jumping off points to some of the best scuba diving and snorkeling anywhere with underwater visibility of up to 200 feet, 20 miles of incredible reefs and caves, and over 200 varieties of magnificently-colored fish. Deep-sea fishing, sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, and jet skiing are also very popular here.

|
| Puerto Vallarta is located on Mexico's largest natural bay, which is anchored by the fascinating Los Arcos rock formation that rises from the ocean. With 100 miles of coastline, endless beaches, and secluded coves, all surrounded by mountains, it takes little imagination to discover the many wonders of this outdoor person's paradise.

Acapulco's beautiful natural bay is the focal point of much of the activity in this world-class resort area, but there is much to see and do throughout the city.
There are a variety of golden and white sand beaches, each with its own unique character and appeal. You can enjoy everything from sun-bathing to sport fishing to parasailing to catamaran cruises to snorkeling to windsurfing.
A visit to this tropical playground should include a stop at world famous La
Quebrada, where divers plunge 136 feet off of the rugged cliffs into a perilous, narrow cove.
Take a fascinating trip to San Diego Fort, which was built in 1617 to defend the port city from pirates. The Fort now houses the Acapulco Historical Museum.
Enjoy golf, tennis, horseback riding, bullfights, and, of course, shopping in many plazas throughout Acapulco. And, when it comes to eating, you'll find cafes and restaurants throughout the area to meet any taste.
Acapulco is a vibrant resort that also provides tranquility to those who desire a slower pace.

Mexico's capital, once the center of Aztec civilization, is the country's cosmopolitan business, art, and culinary hub.
From the Alameda, a leafy center of activity since Aztec times, to the Zona Rosa, a chic shopping neighborhood, Mexico City offers endless options to urban adventurers.
Founded by the Aztecs as Tenochtitlán in 1325, Mexico City is both the oldest and the highest (7,349 ft) metropolis on the North American continent. And with nearly 24 million inhabitants, it is the most populous city in the world. Mexico City has been a center of life and commerce for more than 2,000 years.
It is Mexico's cultural, political, and financial core -- braving the 21st century but clinging to its deeply entrenched Aztec heritage. |
|
| Fly to Cancun and enjoy a scenic drive south to the fascinating Riviera Maya, with its unspoiled beaches, turquoise waters, tropical jungles and Mayan ruins. In the midst of divine nature you'll discover numerous resorts, offering incredible values. It's no surprise many traveler calls the Riviera Maya their Best Destination. |
